
Troy Mitchell
Troy Mitchell, professionally known as De’Leon CoppaDon, is a world-renowned, Internationally known Broadcaster, Digital Media Personality, Host, Reporter, Comedian, Actor, Investor, Mentor, TV Producer, and Content Creator. Born September 28, 1974, he grew up in Miami, Florida with his mother and sister. A trailblazer in his own right, De’Leonn Coppa Don discovered his many talents early in life. He attended Van E. Blanton Elementary and was active in pop warner sports, acting and community service work with the Boy’s Scouts. Troy instantly took interest in entertainment and music as a kid, entering junior high he found a love for creating, playing, performing music and more acting. Eventually making appearances in McDonald’s, Lotto, Chase Bank, Home Depot and many more commercials. He played high school football making the honorable mention list as a wide receiver and ran track qualifying to the Junior Olympics as a sprinter bringing home championship trophies. After high school, he linked up with two young men interested in making music from his neighborhood and they named themselves “DownUnda.”
After a year and a half of networking, building chemistry, perfecting songs and tracks, the group “DownUnda” finally released a smash hit during the 96’ to 98’ era but only to fall short of his vision because the group split due to egos and lack of dedication. Troy Mitchell who was later given the stage name “De’Leon CoppaDon” by a Mobster because he started running the streets and getting into mischief with homeboys and was known for straight business but do not cross him. He became more motivated and he formed another group called “Humble Thugs” which consisted of five members, four young men and a young lady, Donna, Roy, Troy, Q & Bow. The group had signed a record deal with “I J Records” and released an album titled “WE GOT THAT FIRE” with the hit single “Get your mind right” featuring “Juvenile” from Cash money records. As soon as the group was gaining momentum in the industry, the C.E.O. of the record company they were signed too was picked on Federal Drug charges so once again Troy’s dreams came to a screeching halt. But always finding ways to innovate he enjoys giving back to the community by giving away Turkeys during Thanksgiving season and Toys at the Boys & girls club during Christmas time.
People begin to notice his communication skills and witty charisma and asked if he would be interested in hosting shows so he gave it a shot and absolutely love it! He started hosting upscale events all over the states from Atlanta to California. He eventually worked his way to 103.5 the BEAT radio station as the promotions coordinator assistant. He put college on hold thinking he would work his way up to a high profile radio personality, but the station change its format and everyone was laid off. Kicking his way through the entertainment industry trying to find his way, Troy started taking on scripts for some acting roles. So far he has been casted in three independent movies titled “The Lick” featuring “Clifton Powell” and “Trick Daddy” “Back Court” featuring “JoJo Simmons” & “Brawling” in all three he had a supporting role. He was also casted as an extra with main shots in the T.V shows “The Glades” & “Graceland” which airs on USA cable network. He has worked with various artist and actors in the production and engineering of their music and has done stage work as well for various concerts such as “Beyoncé & Jay-Z” “The Rockettes” “Taylor Swift” “Carlos Santana” “Miley Cyrus “and many more. Troy is not scared to try different yet creative ideas, he has mastermind, executive produced and hosted a theatrical runway show titled “Color Me Thick” which consisted of thirty-seven plus size models ripping the runway and coordinated with play skits. Also he executive produced a theatrical play titled “Lipstick Confessions” which was an intense stage play. Through it all, he maintains a level head and continues to be a GOD fearing, goal oriented individual as he focuses on remaining a good father to his two children by the names of Trey and Treciyah Mitchell. Troy Mitchell, who is also known as “De’Leon CoppaDon” is a rising triple threat as a philanthropist, actor, and entertainment personality. He is the owner and C.E.O. of Epic Star Entertainment and part owner of Highly Unique South Media Group. De’Leon has a bachelor’s degree in Mass Communications-Broadcasting from illustrious Florida Memorial University.
